Functional Capacity Evaluations at The Therapy Network

A functional capacity evaluation is a set of tests and observations to determine your ability to return to work. It is a standardized objective assessment of your physical skills related to a specific job.

Here are seven reasons or incidents that may require a functional capacity evaluation:

  • You were involved in a job injury and must present a functional capacity evaluation before returning to work.
  • You are applying for Social Security Disability.
  • You are planning to return to work after a prolonged illness
  • A catastrophic event injured you
  • You are seeking to obtain vocational rehabilitation services
  • You are transitioning from supportive services to a work setting
  • After an injury, your physician would like to set a benchmark and rehabilitation goals.
